Becky Weidman-Winter teaches
flute and flute choir at Western State College
of Colorado and
music at the Crested Butte Community School. She is a doctoral
candidate at the University of North Texas where she studies
with Terri Sundberg and holds degrees from the University of
Colorado at Boulder (MM) and Oberlin Conservatory (BM), having
studied with Alexa Still and Michel Debost.
Becky has performed across the country as a guest artist and
clinician in New York, Texas, and Colorado. She has won the
Kentucky Young Artist Competition(2008) in Bowling Green, KY,
and the Mid-South Young Artist Competition(2007) in Tuscaloosa,
Alabama and received honorable mention in the Myrna Brown Young
Artist Competition (2008) in Denton, TX. She performs in
Colorado with the chamber group Mountain Music Trio
(flute/oboe/guitar).
While in Texas, she played second flute and piccolo with the Garland, Arlington, and Las Colinas
Symphonies as well as woodwinds with the band
Tin Roof
Tango. Becky has also served on the faculty at the Rocky Mountain
Center for Musical Arts in Colorado (RMCMA), where she
taught flute and piano. In her free time, Becky enjoys travel,
photography, and hiking with her dog, Bella.
